Simos Beach lies on the southern coast of Elafonisos, the small island reached by ferry from the Neapoli Voion area of Laconia. Its defining feature is a pair of pale-sand bays, Megalos Simos and Mikros Simos, divided by a narrow, dune-covered headland. Viewed from higher ground, the opposing curves of shoreline create the beach’s recognizable symmetry, with shallow water shifting from clear aquamarine to deeper blue. Low dunes and coastal vegetation add texture behind the sand, while the sheltered coves often produce smooth reflections and visible patterns on the seabed. The fragile dune landscape is an essential part of the setting, so established paths should be respected.
