Sigmaringen Castle is one of Germany's most impressive fortresses. Located in Sigmaringen, a small town in Southern Germany, it stands on a rocky hilltop overlooking the Danube. Built in the 13th century by the House of Hohenzollern, it served as their ancestral home for many centuries. Featuring seven towers, four gates and a high defensive wall of stone, the castle is a symbol of the power of the Hohenzollern dynasty. Visitors can explore the interior: dungeon, knights' chambers, chapels, kitchens and much more. Recent restoration of the castle makes it look like a medieval fairytale. To complete the experience, take a guided tour, or just wander through the beautiful gardens. Don't miss the clock tower with its 45 bells – they will take you to a romantic, distant past.
