Siegessäule (also called Victory Column) is an iconic monument located in Tiergarten, Berlin, Germany. It was erected in 1873 to commemorate the Prussian victory in the Danish-Prussian War. The column is 66m high and is topped by a bronze sculpture of the goddess Victoria, symbolizing German unity and strength. At the base of the column is a stone relief depicting the battle. On the sides of the column, there are sculptures depicting the four provinces of Prussia at the time of the victory. The Victory Column was relocated to its current location by Nazi workers in 1938, and is now located in the heart of Berlin. Visitors to the monument can climb the 285 steps to the top of the column to get an amazing view of Berlin from the observation platform. Despite its many relocations, the Victory Column remains a landmark of the city and a symbol of German pride, making it a great tourist spot for anyone visiting the city.
