Berlin's iconic Siegessäule, or 'Victory Column', is a highly recognizable symbol of the city. It stands at the center of the Tiergarten, a large park in the heart of the city. Located just south of the Siegessäule is the Kreisverkehr, or ‘circle intersection’, a round traffic-filled hub where seven streets meet. Here you’ll find an equestrian war monument as well as a nearby modern-style U-Bahn station. Together, the Siegessäule and the Kreisverkehr offer an interesting mix of historic sites and modern city life. Take a stroll around the park for excellent views of the city’s skyline, or explore the surrounding neighborhoods for unique shops, cafes, and more.
