Shinjuku Gyoen Old Goryotei is a former imperial residence located in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo, Japan. Built in 1868, the house was a gift from the government to Prince Yamashina, a direct relative of the Emperor Meiji. The building is well preserved and such is the impressive architecture of the Edo period. The garden is a peaceful environment filled with cherry trees, azaleas, and water features. It also offers a unique view of the Tokyo Tower from the garden. It is one of the most well-know imperial royal gardens in Japan and is a great place to relax and take in the beauty of Japanese architecture and nature.
