Sheraton

Batumi, Georgia is home to the Sheraton and Penny Farthing Bicycle Woman, a stunning outdoor sculpture located near the city's seaside boulevard. The monument immortalizes an old-fashioned woman riding a penny-farthing bicycle and wearing a period costume, while they look out over the Black Sea. The statue is the work of Georgian sculptor Merab Nilandze and was erected in 2006. It has become a popular photo spot ever since, due to the hilarious contrast between one of the oldest styles of bicycle and the modern world. The area around the sculpture offers plenty of other scenic sights as well, including rolling hills, lush wetlands and the glistening waters of the Black Sea.
