The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is an architectural masterpiece that is both modern and elegant. With its white marble cladding, gilded chandeliers, and massive prayer halls, it is a must-see for any traveler. It is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates, with a capacity of over 40,000 worshippers, and the third largest in the world. The mosque features 82 domes, more than 1000 columns, 24 carat gold-gilded chandeliers, and the world’s largest handmade carpet made by 1200 artisans. Its intricate design is a combination of both traditional Islamic and modern architecture. Visiting the mosque is a great way to learn more about the culture of the United Arab Emirates, appreciate the beauty of Islam, and explore the many artworks contained within its walls. The mosque is open to visitors twice a week, every Thursday and Sunday. A modest dress code must be observed, including wearing a headscarf for women and dressing conservatively.
