Shamanka Khuzhir, also known as Bird Mountain is a beautiful peak situated in the Olkhon Island, in Russia. The peak is abrupt and tall, soaring up to 463 meters above the sea level. It dominates the stunning Lake Baikal and is a surreal nature wonder. The views from here are phenomenal; expect the dramatic horizons to be engulfed in snow during the winter months. A wide diversity of flora and fauna can be seen lurking across Olkhon Island, while recuperating the shamanism ancestral traditions in the localised surroundings of the Island. A great hiking activity for all level of fitness, make sure to pack a picnic for your adventure. The Olkhon Island can be reached from the mainland by ferry, organized early in the morning and accompanied by a piercing wind. Natural wonders await.
