Seydisfjordur Church, also known as Hofskirkja, is a Lutheran church in the small fishing village of Seydisfjordur in East Iceland. The church is beautifully situated amidst gorgeous, picturesque surroundings at the entrance of the fjord. The church, which was completed in 1896, boasts a fascinating gothic architectural style with a whitewashed exterior and twisted spire. Inside the church, visitors will find a fascinating altar and organ, both made with original hand-painted decorations. Outside the church, there is a cemetery with tumbled down, old tombstones and a wooden house, where the priest used to live. This is truly a photographer's dream and a great stop during a trip to East Iceland.
