📍 From Praça Generoso Marques, Brazil
SESC Paço da Liberdade occupies Curitiba’s former city hall on Praça Generoso Marques, in the historic center. Inaugurated in 1916, the building combines neoclassical symmetry with Art Nouveau ornament, giving its formal civic architecture an unusually decorative character. Restored and reopened as a Sesc cultural center in 2009, it now hosts exhibitions and other cultural activities. Its warm-toned façade, pale detailing and central clock distinguish it from the surrounding commercial buildings. The square provides a clear view of the balanced frontage, while closer views reveal the sculpted figures supporting the entrance canopy and the intricate decoration around the windows.
