Server Bey Yalısı is a historic waterfront residence on the Asian shore of the Bosphorus in Üsküdar. It belongs to Istanbul’s yalı tradition, in which domestic architecture was designed in close dialogue with the strait and its maritime life. From the water, the mansion’s long façade and repeated windows form a clear architectural rhythm, while ferries, currents, and the densely built hillside behind it place the house within the layered Bosphorus landscape. Like many shoreline mansions, its most legible and characteristic perspective is from a passing boat.
