Sender Grünten Bayrischer Rundfunk is a 325m tall radio tower atop Grünten mountain in Burgberg im Allgäu, Germany. Situated at 1396m above sea level, it offers breathtaking views over the Alps, and as such, it has become a popular place for visitors, hikers and photographers alike. The tower consists of an observation deck, an open platform and a maintenance section and can be accessed by a gondola, which transports visitors to the top of the mountain. From there, many hiking trails are accessible, like a part of the Via Alpina, one of the five long distance Alpine trails connecting the Alps through Europe, and the Natursteig Allgäu, a 150km long trail that connects 8 municipalities in the German Allgäu/Bavarian Alps. Notable features of the area include the Wildsee, a 0.4 km² large lake situated at the bottom of the mountain.
