The Senator William M. Stewart Historical Marker is located in Beatty, Nevada, United States. It was erected in 1966 to commemorate Senator William Morris Stewart, a successful miner, lawyer, and influential legislator who helped shaped the politics of 19th century Nevada. Considered one of the most successful attorneys of his time, his clients included Mark Twain and Leland Stanford. A prominent figure in early Nevada politics, he was elected to the US Senate three times. The marker is situated near Beatty Town Park, a great place to take in a peaceful atmosphere and see the local wildlife. The desert landscape in the area is also great for exploring, with unique rock formations surrounding the area. You'll also find several museums (like the Beatty Museum & Historical Society) and old mines nearby.
