One of Iceland’s most iconic spots, Seljalandsfoss Waterfall is located near the Ring Road, Iceland’s main highway. It is an incredibly beautiful cascade of water falling from a height of almost 200 feet, making for a breathtaking sight. Seljalandsfoss is the only one of its kind in the world, where visitors can literally walk behind the waterfall for an incredible photo opportunity. Don’t forget to enjoy the views from the surrounding cliffs! If you are brave enough to walk under the waterfall you are sure to find a scene of serene beauty, with rainbows caused by the mist and a peaceful atmosphere. There is also a smaller cascade of water located close by which gives the area a unique ambience. It is situated close to the town of Selfoss and the Westman Islands, so while you are in the region make sure to check those out too.
