Located in the heart of the lively city of Taito, Tokyo, the Security Guard Office is a unique sight to behold. The building, built in the 1920s, is one of the few remaining examples of an old-fashioned, one-storey security guard building. It is made of timber and features an old-fashioned gabled roof. A pathway winds around the exterior of the building, where visitors will pass two security guard checkpoints. The building features many unique features that reflect its old-fashioned and simple architectural style, such as forest-green lattice windows, white wood frames and wooden doors. Inside, visitors can see the guard station, a meeting room and rest area. Although closed to the public and heavily secured round the clock, it still provides a fascinating walk-through of Japan's past.
