Can Melafots is a well-known sport-climbing sector on the limestone cliffs of the Montsant massif above Cornudella de Montsant, situated inside Montsant Natural Park. The rock shows steep, often pocketed faces and ledges in warm ochre and grey, offering compact sequences and visible erosion lines that read well in side-light. The camino de La Trona is the rough footpath that gains the crag, tracing terraces and scrubby pines and framing wide views back toward the village and the rugged massif. Photographers will find strong vertical textures, layered strata and the human scale of bolts and climbers against sheer rock; morning-to-afternoon light sculpts the relief. Respect natural-park access norms and local climbing etiquette when you visit.
