Seceda is a 2,519-metre summit on the western edge of the Odle/Geisler group in the Dolomites, above Val Gardena in South Tyrol. Its broad, grassy southern slopes end at a sharply cut crest, where sheer rock walls fall away to the north. From the ridge, the jagged Odle peaks recede eastward, forming the distinctive skyline seen in photographs of this landscape. The contrast between smooth alpine pasture and pale, fractured rock gives the scene its striking geometry, while cloud gathering below the crest can isolate the peaks above the valleys. Grazing meadows and scattered mountain huts connect the panorama to Val Gardena’s pastoral traditions; in winter, the slopes become part of its ski area.
