Looming above the rocky shoreline, this 19th-century beacon provides a picturesque reminder of Scotland’s rich maritime heritage. Commissioned by David and Thomas Stevenson in 1870, the lighthouse has guided vessels safely past treacherous reefs for over a century. Excellent viewpoints can be found nearby, especially along the coastal walkway linking Montrose Beach, offering prime opportunities to spot seals and seabirds. Although the tower itself is generally closed to the public, the striking structure makes for memorable photographs, particularly at sunrise or sunset. Parking is available in Montrose, followed by a scenic stroll along the shore to reach this serene vantage point.
