The sculptures at Tea Brook are part of the designed landscape of OCT East, a large resort complex set in the hills of Shenzhen’s Yantian District near Dameisha. Rather than functioning as stand-alone historic monuments, the works are woven into garden paths, planted slopes and themed architectural settings associated with the valley’s tea-culture landscape. Their visual interest comes from the contrast between sculpted forms and the area’s dense subtropical greenery, with paths and water features creating layered compositions. The surrounding hills also give the scenes a sense of enclosure unusual in central Shenzhen’s high-rise cityscape.
