The Scott Monument is situated in the heart of Edinburgh and is a Victorian Gothic revival monument to writer Sir Walter Scott, who wrote many popular novels like 'Ivanhoe'. It is the largest monument of its kind in the world and was designed by George Meikle Kemp. Completed in 1844, the monument stands at over 200 ft, overlooking Edinburgh's Princes Street in all its majesty. Inside the monument, there are several intricately carved staircases and an internal viewing gallery where visitors can take in the majestic views of the city. On the outside, there are 67 statues of famous authors and poets, and 6 medallions of aristocrats. The Scott Monument is a popular attraction, with an average of 250,000 people visiting each year. It is a great place to capture some wonderful photos!
