Schloss Schönbrunn is a former imperial summer palace located in the Hietzing district of Vienna, Austria. It is one of the city's most popular attractions, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to its palace and gardens, Schloss Schönbrunn is also home to the world's oldest zoo, Tiergarten Schönbrunn. The palace and gardens offer exquisite architecture and design, and feature some incredible views of the city skyline. The Baroque architecture of the palace is reminiscent of the time of the Habsburgs. Inside, one can find several impressive paintings, sculptures and other artwork. As a former imperial residence, Schloss Schönbrunn also contains beautiful furniture and porcelain, as well as a large number of royal artifacts. The surrounding gardens are very large and feature several walking paths, formal gardens, fountains and ponds. It is also a great place to relax and take a stroll, with several benches and park areas to sit in. For those interested in learning more about the palace and its history, there is a very well-maintained museum which provides a wealth of information.
