Schloss Cecilienhof is a palace located in the German city of Potsdam. It was built between 1913 and 1917, during the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm II. The castle was named after his great-granddaughter, Princess Cecilie. It is an example of 'Stil luft' architecture and is one of the last German palaces with a French Baroque garden. The castle is renowned for having been the site of the Potsdam Conference in 1945, at which the leaders of the United States, the Soviet Union and Britain met to decide the future of Europe following the end of World War II. The palace and its nearby grounds are a popular tourist destination, offering visitors the chance to explore the home of the former Imperial family, including its lavishly decorated interiors and its artworks. There are guided tours and tastings of the on-site restaurants, cafes and bars, and it is also a great place for picnics. With its beautiful gardens, fountains and sculptures, Schloss Cecilienhof is a must-visit for any visitor to the city.
