Located in Poieni, Romania, Schitul Curesoaia is a Romanian Orthodox monastery, originally built in the 16th century. The monastery stands atop a hill and its walls enclose a church dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos. Inside, there are numerous frescoes and icons, dated at the end of the 19th century. The most remarkable icon is Saint Gregory of Neo Caesarea, painted in 1887. The monastery gardens offer a beautiful view of the area and there is also a dining hall which can host up to 50 people. There are no accommodation facilities at the monastery and visitors are free to explore its grounds and admire the view of the surroundings.
