📍 From Inside the Mosque, India
The Sarkhej Roza Architecture, located in Ahmedabad, India, is a stunning example of Islamic architecture throughout the city. Together with the adjacent mosque, it is regarded as an important part of the local Muslim heritage. It is a complex of pavilions, gates, walls and ponds, surrounded by a large garden.

The architecture consists of the Mausoleum which was built for Mehmud Shah, the Tomb for Ganj Bakhsh, and the Mosque. The mausoleum was decorated with exquisite tile works and floral designs. The mosque was built by the regent of Sultan Ahmed Shah, which is why its domes, arches, and pillars reflect this famous ruler’s ideas about Islamic culture and art. Attached to the mosque are several pavilions, all featuring intricate stone carvings and lattice work. The Sarkhej Roza is an example of the vibrant culture and unique history of Ahmedabad. It is a popular tourist attraction, but is best seen during the daytime to admire the stunning artwork and architecture that make it so special.
