Saphan Narit Damrat Bridge
📍 Thailand
Saphan Narit Damrat Bridge carries Rama IV Road across Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem at the edge of Bangkok’s Pom Prap Sattru Phai district, linking the old-city and Chinatown side with the Hua Lamphong area. The canal was created during Bangkok’s nineteenth-century expansion and once marked the capital’s outer boundary, so the crossing reflects the city’s growth beyond its earlier core. Photographs from beside the water emphasize the bridge’s strong horizontal line, the canal’s receding perspective, and the layered backdrop of traffic, utility lines, shopfronts, and older inner-city buildings.
