Sant'Angelo d'Ischia is the tiny, largely pedestrian fishing village at the southern tip of Ischia island in the Bay of Naples. Its compact harbour and narrow alleys are defined by closely set pastel houses, stepped lanes and terraces that cascade toward a crescent beach and a small marina where brightly painted boats bob and reflect on still water. The village sits against the backdrop of Ischia’s volcanic interior, giving a sense of scale between the steep island slopes and the intimate shoreline. For photographers the strengths are compositional: tight alleys and stairways for textured details, low-angle harbour views for colorful reflections, and headland vantage points that frame the village against open sea at sunrise or sunset. Sant'Angelo is notably car-free, which preserves its unhurried streetscape and pedestrian character.
