Santa Maria della Pieve is a church in Arezzo, Italy, which is renowned for its uniquely decorated façade. The church was first constructed in the 12th century and underwent complex renovations to the interior and exterior in the 16th and 17th centuries. The façade of the church is adorned with various Biblical stories and scenes in terracotta, created by the renowned architect and sculptor Andrea della Robbia. The interior of the church boasts Romanesque details, as well as large frescoes painted by the famous Renaissance painter Pietro Lorenzetti depicting the Madonna and Child and the Tree of Jesse. Visitors to the church can also find the chapel of Saint Bernardino and a municipal museum inside. The bell tower of Santa Maria della Pieve stands on its own to the side of the church and gives visitors beautiful views of the Arezzo hills.
