๐ From Via della Pace, Italy
Santa Maria della Pace is a small 16th century church in the heart of Rome, Italy. Its beautiful facade features 44 steps, four pillars, and a porch framed by two twin bell towers. Inside you will find a number of tombs, a magnificent tiled floor, and an impressive ceiling fresco painted by 16th-century artist Antonio del Massaro. A unique Baroque altar also offers an interesting contrast to the Renaissance architecture of the church. Visitors also appreciate the ancient Roman columns surrounding the entrance and exterior of the building, as well as Santa Maria della Pace's lovely courtyard. The courtyard is the location of a peaceful open-air cafe, which is perfect for relaxing with a quality espresso.
