The Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentinean Patagonia is one of South America's most stunning and unique natural wonders. The glacier is a 30-kilometer wide block of ice with a height of 74 meters above the surface of Argentino Lake. The Perito Moreno Glacier is an ice formation of enough size to be considered a continent in terms of area and the third largest reserve of fresh water in the world. The glacier creeps forward at a rate of up to 2 meters a day, a natural form of dynamic that has been drawing visitors from around the globe. With its constant changes, snow-draped cliffs, ever-changing landscape of crevasses, arches, caves, and seracs, Perito Moreno Glacier is a photographer’s dream. It's even possible to take a boat tour up close to the glacier, although a lot of the pleasure is simply admiring the mesmerizing majesty of the slowly melting glacier from the shore.
