Salzspeicher
📍 From St. Peter's Church, Germany
Salzspeicher and St. Peter's Church in Lübeck, Germany, are two of the city's most iconic landmarks. Salzspeicher, meaning "salt storage," is one of the most well-preserved Hanseatic League-era buildings that can be found in the city. It is named after the function it once served: storing salt and other goods. St. Peter's Church is located just opposite to Salzspeicher, and was completed in 1239. Its towers and spires reach high into the sky and can be seen from many places in the city. Both buildings are part of Lübeck's Old Town, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The two buildings are open to visitors and offer wonderful views from high up in the church's spires.
