Saint Trudpert's Abbey is a popular tourist destination located in Münstertal, Germany. Established in 700 AD, the abbey is one of the oldest monastic sites in Central Europe and has been a part of the history of the area for centuries. The abbey is home to impressive architecture, with The Church of St. Trudpert, the former monastic church, featuring awe-inspiring medieval artwork and frescoes. This iconic building stands out with its red terra cotta roof tiles, and visitors can explore not only the church, but also the monastery and other buildings. A highlight of the site is the marvellous ‘Passion of St. Trudpert’, a 13th-century sculpture depicting the body of Jesus laid out in its stone sarcophagus. It is well worth visiting to gain insight into the religious and cultural heritage of this part of Germany.
