Saint Paul de Mausole is a psychiatric facility located within St Remy de Provence in France. The hospital dates back to the 16th century and is most famous for being where the French post-impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh was treated from May 1889 to May 1890. During his stay he painted some of his greatest works. Nowadays it is open for visitors to learn about its history and also as an art centre. The cloister in its garden also provides an amazing Mediterranean backdrop for photography. It’s the perfect place to appreciate the beautiful green landscape of Provence in all its glory.
