Saint Nicholas' Church is a Roman Catholic church located in the historic centre of Ghent, Belgium. Built in the 13th century, it is the largest surviving medieval church in the city. It is 130m long and 37m wide, making it one of the most impressive churches in the Low Countries. The church is famous for its sculptures, painting, stained glass and interior decorations and its decoration is said to be an important influence in the art of Ghent. The Church is home to over 30 works of art from the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods. Inside the church you can admire the beautiful stained glass windows depicting scenes from the Old Testament, and a unique and unique carved "Deposition" by the Flemish sculptor Claus Sluter and his workshop. In the chancellery, a polyptych by the Dutch artist Dirk Bouts is on display.
