Saint Martin Church, in Chapaize, France, is a Romanesque church which was erected at the end of the 11th century in Burgundy. This church is highly regarded for its architecture and engineering, as it has an especially robust structure, built with thick walls and heavy buttresses. Its appearance alone makes it worth a visit. Inside, a high groin vaulted nave is supported by two rows of four columns and two aisles. At the end of each aisle is a five-arched tribune. The transept is also richly ornamented, with the two façades arch divided into six sections. The back features a porch, separated by two columns. Many of the interior and of the exterior walls has ornate carvings which are beautiful to look at. It’s definitely worth a visit to admire its grandeur.
