Village Saint-Joseph is an open-air heritage museum on the outskirts of Guînes, in the Pas-de-Calais countryside south of Calais. It recreates the atmosphere of a northern French village in the early 20th century through furnished shops, artisan workshops, domestic interiors and displays of period tools and machinery. Rather than presenting isolated objects in cases, the site arranges them in recognizable settings that evoke everyday trades, schooling, shopping and rural life. For photographers, its strongest details are the vintage storefronts, painted signs, aged wood, brickwork and densely arranged interiors, while the village-style lanes create layered views between façades and old equipment.
