📍 From Square de la Tour Saint-Jacques, France
The Saint-Jacques Tower is a remarkable landmark in Paris, France. It stands at the intersection of Rue de Rivoli and Rue de Berger and is part of the former Paris Royal Chapel. Built in the 16th century, the Gothic brick tower was built as part of a large edifice dedicated to the burial of kings. The ground floor of the tower houses the archaeological museum of Nanterre.

It offers an incredible view of Paris, as it is the only one of the 11 medieval gates that was not destroyed during the French revolutionary wars. The Tower stands tall at a height of 99 meters (325 feet), and its 9 floors are easily visible from the square below. Even from a far distance, the ornate towers intricate patterns, sculptures, and stained glass windows all stand out. Visitors can climb the tower and experience the history of the chapel for themselves. There is an array of interesting stone scales and arches, as well as small rooms for private studies or contemplations. Visit the top and you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful view of Paris and its many monuments, typically seeing the Eiffel Tower from the height of the Saint-Jacques Tower.
