The Sacra Capilla del Salvador, in Úbeda, Spain is an incredible example of the late-Gothic and Renaissance style typical of the region of Andalucia. The chapel, built between 1538 and 1543, is located in the former Great Mosque, and was a show of power and wealth from the Duke of Nájera and Viceroy of Naples, Don Íñigo López de Mendoza, El Marqués de Tendilla. Its interior is full of gold-embellished decorations, inspired by the Italian Renaissance, and features original frescoes from the 16th century. The design of the chapel is an impressive mix of Islamic, Gothic and Renaissance style, making it a must-see place for visitors to Úbeda. Its beauty and unique design have made it a coveted site for both pilgrims and travelers alike. Please note that due to its religious status, visitors must be respectful when exploring the chapel.
