📍 Poland
Rynek Starego Miasta is the central square of Warsaw’s Old Town, framed by colorful, ornamented townhouses and a fountain bearing the Warsaw Mermaid, the city’s emblem. Its historic appearance tells a story of recovery: the Old Town was largely destroyed during World War II and carefully reconstructed afterward. The façades’ varied colors and decorative details give each side of the square a distinct character, while the mermaid provides a focal point at its center.
