Potrerillos is a sleepy mountain town in the Argentinean province of Mendoza. It is known for the large lake in its valley, the Potrerillos Reservoir. A popular activity here is to take a picturesque road trip around the lake, known as the “Ruta en Lago Potrerillos”. Beginning in the town of Potrerillos, the route can be driven in about an hour plus stops for photographs. It will take you past some of the most spectacular mountain views and crystal clear lakes in all of Argentina. The biodiverse landscape, which includes sand and white stone beaches, huge colonies of Andean shrubs and ancient Valdivian forest, is a great attraction for nature lovers.
