The Royal Palace of Caserta, known in Italian as the Reggia di Caserta, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site commissioned by Charles III of Bourbon. It’s one of the largest royal residences in the world, boasting over 1,200 rooms richly decorated with frescoes, chandeliers, and ornate furnishings. Built in the 18th century by architect Luigi Vanvitelli, its design was inspired by Versailles, offering an immense Baroque spectacle. Don’t miss the stunning palace gardens stretching over three kilometers, featuring elegant fountains, waterfalls, and a grand English Garden. Guided tours highlight the royal apartments and chapel, while the park offers scenic walks and carriage rides.
