Rotonda di San Lorenzo is the oldest church in Mantova, dating back to the late 11th century. The structure is a rare example of Romanesque architecture in northern Italy with its circular plan and central dome, offering a surreal ambience. Photos inside capture dimly lit fresco fragments offering a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere. The church is located in Piazza delle Erbe, providing an excellent vantage point for photos capturing the juxtaposition of the ancient brick façade against bustling market activities and historical landmarks. It’s best visited at sunset for stunning interplay of light and shadows on its ancient walls.
