📍 From The King's Garden, Denmark
Rosenborg Castle stands in the King’s Garden in central Copenhagen, a compact royal residence built in the early 17th century for King Christian IV. Its red-brick façades, pale sandstone ornament, slender towers and green copper roofs make it a distinctive example of Dutch Renaissance architecture in Denmark. Inside, richly furnished rooms trace the world of the Danish monarchy, while the basement treasury displays the Crown Jewels and royal regalia. From the garden, clipped lawns and tree-lined paths provide clear views of the castle’s balanced silhouette; along the moat, still water can add reflections of the masonry and turrets. The surrounding park, Copenhagen’s oldest royal garden, also places the former royal retreat within the everyday life of the modern city.
