📍 Spain
Roque Bastón is a rocky outcrop in Vega de San Mateo, in the mountainous interior of Gran Canaria. Its name combines roque, a Canarian term for a prominent rock formation, with bastón, meaning “walking stick.” The formation belongs to the island’s volcanic landscape, where erosion has shaped exposed rock into crags and ridges. Its weathered surface provides a detailed contrast to the broader contours of the surrounding highlands.
