The Rock of Gibraltar is a prominent limestone promontory located in the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar, at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. It stands at a height of 426 meters and is a significant landmark due to its strategic location at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. Historically, the Rock has been of immense military importance, serving as a key naval base and point of control over maritime traffic between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean. Its history is rich with influence from the Moors, Spanish, and British, reflecting its strategic value over centuries.

The Rock is also famous for its natural features, including the extensive network of tunnels carved into it, known as the Great Siege Tunnels, which were expanded during World War II. The Upper Rock Nature Reserve is home to the Barbary macaques, the only wild monkeys found in Europe, adding a unique wildlife experience to the visit. Visitors can explore St. Michael's Cave, an impressive natural grotto that hosts concerts and events due to its excellent acoustics. The Skywalk and the Windsor Suspension Bridge offer breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The Rock of Gibraltar is not just a natural wonder but a cultural and historical symbol, drawing tourists who are eager to explore its diverse offerings and stunning vistas.
