
Tobermory, Ontario's "Rock Formations" is a unique collection of ancient limestone formations located within the Lake Huron Islands. It is a popular destination for scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, fishing, and camping. The area is an ideal setting for kayaking and canoeing, as the lake is calm with many sheltered areas. The area is home to some very unique and unusual rock formations, including flowerpot, mushroom and bonsai formations. Although the area can be accessed by a short hike, the safest and most rewarding way to explore is by kayaking or taking a boat excursion. The area also offers fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities, particularly in the spring and fall months. Keep your camera at the ready and keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles, osprey, common loons, and white-tailed deer.
