Rocca di Montefiore forms part of the historic defensive fabric of Montefiore dell’Aso, a hill town in southern Marche between the Adriatic coast and the inland valleys. Its brick masonry and elevated position reflect the fortified character of the medieval settlement, whose compact streets follow the ridge. From around the rocca, the visual interest extends beyond architectural textures to broad layers of cultivated hills, scattered farmhouses and distant mountains, a landscape characteristic of the Picene countryside.
