Rocamadour is an ancient hilltop village in the Lot department of France, with a stunning cliff-side setting and some of the best preserved medieval architecture in Europe. The focal point of the town is the Notre-Dame de Rocamadour Sanctuary, a pilgrimage destination since the 12th century and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is composed of several chapels, including the Chapel of St. Michel, the Notre Dame chapel and the mystical Chartreuse. At the base of the cliff and in the town's narrow alleys, visitors will find a number of ancient shops, inns and restaurants. As one walks around the village, there is a Labyrinth of olive trees that takes visitors to the Chapel of St. Michael. From the 11th century tower of the Castle, there are incredible views of the valley and the site.
