📍 From Drone, Portugal
Risco Waterfall drops over a sheer, forested cliff in the Rabaçal valley, within Madeira’s municipality of Calheta. Reached by a levada-side walking route that shares its approach with the popular 25 Fontes trail, the cascade appears as a narrow white ribbon against dark volcanic rock, moss, ferns, and dense laurel vegetation. Its height and near-vertical setting are best understood from the designated viewpoint, where the curving cliff face frames the fall and mist often softens the surrounding greenery. Water volume and the intensity of the scene vary with recent rainfall.
