Rio Iguazú, also known as Iguazú River, is a major river located in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. It flows through the Iguazú National Park, which is home to the famous Iguazú Falls. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is known for its stunning cascades, with over 275 individual waterfalls spanning more than 2 miles. The falls can be accessed from both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides, offering different perspectives and experiences. The Brazilian side offers panoramic views of the falls, while the Argentinian side allows for up-close encounters with the falls. Visitors can take various trails and boat rides to further explore the falls, as well as spot diverse wildlife such as toucans, monkeys, and colorful butterflies. It is recommended to visit during the rainy season (October-March) for a more dramatic experience, but be prepared for crowds. Entry fee and transportation to the falls can be arranged through local tour operators.
