Ricasoli East Breakwater

Ricasoli East Breakwater and Siege Bell War Memorial is an important location in the history of Malta. Built in 1922, the breakwater stretches some 300 meters into the Grand Harbour, and was a crucial fortification during the Great Siege of Malta, protecting the entrance to Europe’s second largest port. The Siege Bell War Memorial, located at the eastern tip of the wall, is dedicated to both the bravery of the Maltese people in defense of their island, and the victims of the bombing raids during World War Two.
